The Gjurasic Family Foundation Scholarship

Description

The purpose of The Gjurasic Family Foundation Scholarship is to honor the roots of the Gjurasic family through supporting post-secondary students at the University of Washington’s College of the Built Environment. $10,000 is available for the 2021-2022 scholastic year, and students may reapply. The total amount may be awarded to one or divided among several students.  Eligible expenses include college tuition and books. 

The criteria for eligibility include the following: 

1) Level of study: 

  • This scholarship is exclusively offered to students enrolled in the Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree in the Department of Architecture at the University of Washington's College of Built Environments

2) Financial Need

3) Minimum GPA 3.0

4) Active involvement in community, school, or other extracurricular activities

5) High regard for integrity and ethics

6) Preference will be given to a student(s) whose parents are immigrants working to establish roots in America. You may or may not be a U.S. citizen but must be a legal immigrant with the intent to become an American citizen.

The mission and vision of The Gjurasic Family Foundation Scholarship is to further a world where built environment professionals reflect the growing diversity of Greater Seattle and all students have the same chance of success in meeting their academic goals.

(This scholarship is not available to relatives of the Gjurasic family or The Seattle Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee.)

How to Apply:

To apply for a The Gjurasic Family Foundation Scholarship, please register and create a SurveyMonkey Apply individual applicant account. To do so, please click on the green "Register" button on the top right of the screen, not the "Apply" button. You will be directed to a new page where you will select "Register as an individual" and prompted to enter your personal information. Upon creation of your applicant account you will click on "View programs" and search for The Gjurasic Family Foundation Scholarship, using the search bar.
